Demeter Speaks: Waning Moon, Fall

It's too soon!  Stay awhile! 

There are still some warm days left.

Look, here I've found a rose still blooming! 

Don’t be impatient love!  Of course, you must go,

but not yet, my dearest, not yet. 

I haven’t taught you everything you need to know. 

I didn’t want to mar our bliss

with warnings and sad memories and advice. 

The path you'll take has so much pain and danger! 

Perhaps there's a safer path to take,

different from the strange way I chose. 

If I could choose to do it differently...

Yes, I treasure rich, deep memories. 

But I was lucky to survive! 

I fear for you!  Let me warn you! 

Let me teach you!  Let me go in your place! 

Don’t go!
