Sati

I Am Sati, Devi.

I Am shattered,

moonlight on the sea.

Look for My traces.

My broken mirror mends.

I Am the Diamond of Infinite faces.

My parts are scattered,

found by the broken heart

in sacred places.

(Look for My toe at Kalighat, Kolkat.)

Men say I jumped into a fire,

suicide, in shame.

(How many choice-less womben have died,

burning with yearning,

calling My name?)

Shiva, they say, My grieving mate,

dancing destruction,

carried Me, charnel, charred,

and the triple gods

(How did they dare?)

‘to save the world'

tore Me apart,

hurled pieces of Me everywhere.

Go find My sacred Heart

within your center!

I Am the Triple Moon:

Crescent, Full and Dark,

One, in My many phases,

journeying

between creation and destruction,

life and death, My sacred breath.

Light into dark, dark into light,

fearless I dive, consumed, reborn,

from the crucible of My cool fire,

feminine desire.

Be wise, and carry Me whole!

I Am your body/soul.

Be warned!

Let no one steal a piece of Me from you!

I Am Sati:

cyclic, and deathless in My Mystery.

In every shard of beauty scorned,

see Me.
