Unbreakable

The full Moon’s face shines mottled.

The Mirror of Fullness

is broken, again, again,

yet it is self-healing, self-completing,

beautiful though marred.

(Ram disfigured the face

of the demon girl who loved him.)

Devils and demons belong to patriarchy,

My natural power (Devi!) demonized.

The crescent-horned ‘buffalo demon’

is the crone image

of My sacred nurturing cow.

Kali, 'queen of demons,'

is My fierce Crone Self,

Dark Moon side of My potential Full Moon.

She devours all light and all becoming

into the pregnant maelstrom of Her yearning.

Black paint behind the mirror-glass of being

She knows all by its absence, loving all.

She knows that light in secret thrills

to Her embrace of darkness never seen.
